Then, what is left for creativity?

I have been studying predominantly science since 2005, give or take. Science taught me to be disciplined and to follow a method of thinking and to develop experiments to falsify hypotheses. “Be bold!”, “Don’t think about the budget!”, “You have to do better, you can do better!”, professors always told me. I always had the feeling that science was the magic of creating and inventing the impossible, the art of achieving what no one else had achieved so far. It was intense and worth-full. Still, it was necessary doing my first end-to-end experiment (which surprisingly only happened in the final…

Two years ago I read an interview from Karim Rashid. In the interview I was inspired by the simplicity of Karim Rashid design model of work in the middle of his career. However, it was not the design model what surprised me, because there was none. Design nowadays is complex, it is a fully theoretical and practical discipline, with a myriad of applications across many fields. Design is not easy to apprehend. Karim Rashid shed light on the creative purpose and a simpler answer made my comprehension of design, innovation, and creativity much simpler and easier. …

As it seems I am writing this piece belonging to the generation in the middle. I am nearly 29. Greta Thunberg is 16. She belongs to the younger generation. Everyone else older belongs to the old generation. This is deeply wrong…

The front photo shows a cardboard saying “SAVE OUR FUTURE”. This is not my message, because I don’t want to rely on others to solve my future. If we are talking about our future, then it is our responsibility. Ours. Not theirs. Who are ‘they’ tough? The common future is a common design. We are not living a life…

O meu problema

Às vezes nem o dia nem a luz
Nem o sangue nem o pus
Nem o fogo nem a cruz querem resolver
O meu problema…

E o problema é —
Eu adoro bolos

A girl in a boys’ prison

Follow-up story from Sarah D.

I have to express myself about this. I want to share with you this. I am amazed. I am amazed by the mystery, the story, the experience itself and the nonsense of this person.

The story is WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE TO GO TO JAIL, and it depicts a stay in a prison. A girl in a boys’ prison.

VI Semana Criativa de Lisboa

Hype é a palavra do meio desta cena.

Lanço aqui o meu aftermatch do evento:

Isto não é para velhos

Modern Portugal through its creative industry

art in any media

for those who ask what’s going on Portugal

or even though for those who wonder what Portugal is

but mostly for all the portuguese who are seeking to destroy it

namely politicians, business men, the corrupts, the conformists, the bad lobbyists, the status quo influencers

We survive through the power of hope, art, new idols, hard work and peer to peer motivation

We do not believe in an old version of the mighty Descobridores who fucked half world and sold the other half

We stand for future and freedom

We stand for Shake your irregularly built…

We are a group of people who have come together to help solve meaningful problems and guide global change. Cancer diagnosis. Fake news. Bots in the work place. Creative self. Opaque supply chains. Fair insurance. Emotional connectivity. Building communities. Refugees’ reality. Remittances. Global world heritage. Waste in fashion. Blockchain and ownership.

We have an amazing time doing it.

É possível subsistir nesta modernidade hiper-competitiva fazendo “isto”? Hum, sim. …

Versus the illusion of a promised future

Portugal is coming out of their box. Centuries of hiding itself from the world visibility after ruling the world in Descobrimentos.

Descobrimentos was our golden era, where we, as portuguese hard working men, left our beloved women and children and went in the most prestigious and dangerous journey of our history. In that time we were the most innovative, we build ships from wood that were planted wittingly for it. …
